Stop. Buying. Crap.

There is no polite way to say this. There is no clean version. There is no “both sides” middle road paved in nuance and NPR tote bags. The house is on fire, and you’re still paying for the matches.

We are the ones feeding the beast. Every month, you and I shuffle to the altar and sacrifice our dollars to the same gods: Amazon, Disney, Netflix, Google. It doesn’t matter what you watch. It doesn’t matter who you vote for. If you’re still subscribed, you’re still complicit.

Let’s not pretend we don’t know how this works. Money is power. Take their money, you take their power. Stop paying, and the machine stops humming. It’s not activism — it’s arithmetic.

The oligarchs don’t care about your tweets, your TikToks, or your thinkpieces. They care about your auto-pay.

Stop giving it to them.

Cancel It All.

Netflix? Gone.

Disney+? Gone.

Amazon Prime? Burn it.

Spotify? Cut the cord.

YouTube Premium? Yep, even that.

Comics, movies, Funko Pops, streaming bundles, plastic home goods you didn’t need but bought at 2 a.m.? Gone. Gone. Gone.

This isn’t about living in a cave. This is about refusing to feed the system that sells you a distraction while it loots your future.

But What About Independent Media?

If they are stoking fires instead of building movements, if they’re chasing clicks instead of community, if their only product is rage and tribal dopamine—

They are not your allies.

They are not your leaders.

They are clout-chasers riding the same algorithm as everyone else.

You don’t owe them your money either. Starve the Machine.

The system runs on attention and consumption. You can protest in the streets (and you should), but the most devastating protest is the quiet, relentless, personal boycott of the unnecessary. You don’t need to scream into the void — you need to log out, cancel the card, and walk away.

Spend on food, shelter, community, survival. Full stop. Pull your dollar like a pin from a grenade and hand it back to them, live.

Let’s see how long they last when the ATM runs dry.

Why Now?

Because the moment is ripe. Because the economy is a glass castle teetering on the edge of a cliff. Because they need you more than you need them. Because you’ve been tricked into thinking you can’t live without this endless feed of half-baked content and curated nonsense.

You can. You must.

If we cut off their money, we cut off their power. It’s not a theory. It’s the only language they understand.

When Alexander the Great offered to grant Diogenes of Sinope anything, Diogenes told him: “Yes, stand out of my sunlight.”

It’s time to say the same to the powers that be.

Get out of our sunlight.

Get out of our wallets.

Get out of our heads.

We will not build your empire for you. Not anymore.
